Biography

In Case Of Fire are a three-piece alternative rock band from Portadown, Northern Ireland. Previously known as Element before forming In Case Of Fire in 2005, they have remained the same line up since, consisting of brothers Steve (guitar, vocals) and Colin Robinson (drums), and bassist Mark Williamson.

After years of struggle, being dropped from an independent record label in Washington DC and recording demos in the home kitchen, they finally signed a worldwide deal with Zomba and released their debut album Align The Planets on May 11th 2009.

Band name

"In Case Of Fire" was originally the name of what would become The Cleansing when the band were known as Element. However the band felt that this was much better suited as a band name for their new project, thus they called it "In Case Of Fire". Steven Robinson has said it is appropriate due to it's sense of "urgency".

Uniform

Over time the uniform has seen several incarnations. Primarily, and originally, the uniform consists of a black Atticus shirt, black trousers, black Converse trainers and a white arm-band.

Other versions include:

• Same as original but with a red arm-band.
• Red shirt, black jeans, black Converse, red arm-band.

The purpose of the uniform is to not only set the band apart from everyone else but also, in a sense, to enforce a feeling of emergency that things need to be changed for the better. The band have previously used the term "militaristic" when describing the uniform.
